Back in the saddle again! Here is my agenda for this week.

Virtue of the month:  Appreciation and Wonder for the Beauty of our world

Religion:  We are finishing up Unit 1 with an open book assessment.  We will begin to study Advent.  Remember, this Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent!  Let's work together to prepare our children for the birth of our Lord!

Math:  Lesson 52 - Simplifying Mixed Measures; 53 - Reading and Writing Whole Numbers in Expanded Notation; 54 - Finding Information to Solve Problems; 55 - Solving Two-Step Word Problems; 56 - Making Equal Groups to Find an Average; Pre-exercise 5A Tuesday and Exercise 5B on Thursday.

Social Studies:  Renaissance - Section 4 Rome and the Renaissance Popes; Section 5 - Venice: Jewel of the Adriatic; Review Questions for Sections 1-5.  Read, discuss and take notes.  A point of Clarification:  We will have our state capital exercise sometime after December 15.  The date to be determined as we get closer.

Science:  Classification Packet:  We begin the Plant, Fungi, Protista, and Monera kingdoms.  We will begin Celery and yeast experiments in the Science lab this week.  Also, please help the students with the mold experiment.  Remind them to check it everyday.  Thank you.

English:  Continue the review of Subjects and predicates.  Focus on Predicates:  Pages 188 - 191.  Begin diagraming sentences:  pages 192 - 194

Literature: Begin Secret Garden!!!  Woohoo!  It will be a combination of in-class and at home reading.  There will be no book report.  When we finish the book, we will have an assessment.

Computers:  Continue work on State Capitals power point presentation.

PE:  Fun!  Fun!  Fun!

Please keep a loo out for announcements in the Monday envelope.  This is a busy time of the year and we will be communicating via the envelops.  This Saturday - December 1 - is the OB Christmas Parade.  We need some child volunteers.  If possible, please encourage your child to offer their time and talent.  PHEW!  did I leave anything out?
